What’s up, guys? Beija here for Complex News.
Travis Scott is really enjoying a moment right now. He’s featured on new songs from SZA and Frank Ocean. He’s rumored to be dating Kylie Jenner. He has fans going to great lengths to impress him at his shows. And apparently, he has plenty of new music that he’s preparing to release in the coming days, weeks, and months.
During a recent stop on his Birds Eye View Tour, Travis hyped up the crowd by announcing that he was planning on dropping new music soon. He also seemed to suggest that he had some new music on the way in an Instagram post that he put up to promote his appearances on Kendrick Lamar’s The Damn Tour.
And on Monday night, Travis stayed true to his word by blessing all of his fans with not one, not two, but three new songs. He hit his fans with a track called “Green & Purple,” featuring Playboy Carti, as well as two other songs, “Butterfly Effect” and “A Man.” He uploaded them directly to his Soundcloud and shared links to them on Twitter.
There were some fans who thought Travis might be dropping his highly-anticipated third album, Astroworld, when he suggested he had new music on the way. So there are no doubt a few people who are disappointed that he didn’t go that route. But for the most part, it seems as though Travis fans were ecstatic to see that Travis followed through on his promise to hit them with new music.
“It’s a great day when Travis drop new music”
“New travis scott music dropped gonna be a good day”
“new travis scott music making my wholeee day”
The new music comes just days after Travis was arrested in Arkansas for allegedly starting a riot during a show. He was taken away by police after a concert in Rogers, Arkansas and charged with disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a minor, and inciting a riot. In addition to releasing new music on Monday night, he also seemed to allude to the arrest in a tweet he sent out after linking fans to his latest tracks.
“IM HEAR TO CAUSE A GOOD TIME. NOT HARM. #FREETRAVISSCOTT”
The Birds Eye View Tour is scheduled to run through the beginning of July, and we would guess that Travis still has plenty of new music tucked away for his fans. So we wouldn’t be surprised to see him release even more of it in the near future.
