In the latest episode of Complex's new series, Blueprint, we were fortunate enough to sit down with Daniel Arsham of the design firm Snarkitecture, who broke down the steps behind his design process. Arsham opened up about what it's like to be the first visual artist signed to Adidas, and he credits his connection with the public as a huge reason for his success.

"I'm probably the first artist, and probably the only artist now to be signed with Adidas, which is an interesting thing for me," Arsham explained. "In the art community, they may have a different read on the work than a 15-year-old high school student, but it says something to both of them."

Arsham doubled down on that claim, and he thinks those connections and conversations matter a great deal. "I think that certainly, having a direct platform to speak to people through Instagram, I've used that heavily to talk to people, to understand what they're thinking about, to understand also their reaction and what their sort of read is on the work."
